Why do Messianic "Jews" insist on their Judaism despite their affiliation with Christian denominations?

Because their Christianity cannot stand on it's own as a legitimate path to God. And they aren't Jews, most of them are Gentiles. They like to lie about that though. It gives them prestige in their communities if people think they are real Jews.
