To those whom have read 'The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle'?

Ugh, is it any good? I just CAN'T sit through it! It sucks! It reminds me all too much of 'The Witch of Blackbird Pond', which I also hated. I don't know why, normally I read more advanced books than my clmates, but I'm the one who can't sit through this one! How do I get through it alive??
