Skirt help?

I have a swatch of denim with which I wanted to sew a mini-skirt. The only problem is, I'm not an expert at sewing, and need a pattern. All of the patterns that I have found online cost money. Can anyone help me find a free mini-skirt pattern online? Also, any tips for anyone who has sewed a skirt from scratch before? Thanks in advance!
