I was caught with a baggie that had no ecstasy pills inside, just a bit powder will i be in trouble?

There was little specks only not much. I'm an 8th grader. i got caught by the vice principal. I live in california. He hasn't called authorities. How much trouble will I be in? Should i confess? or just keep denying sincei ts little specks
